She tutted at the response, the story coming back to the forefront of her mind. Five killed, 1 wounded, if she remembered correctly. “Ah. Yup, I remember reading about that. Terrible thing, really. Those poor families.” She said, shaking her head forlornly. Without permission, an image of her family’s reaction to the news of her brother’s death came hurtling to her mind. With a quick shiver she shoved it back into the box it had emerged from, hoping he passed off the weird shake as a twitch or something equally inconsequential.
He tilts his head to the side, taking in the shiver without comment. Perhaps she knew someone in the explosion, or had something similar happen to someone she knew. It didn’t matter in the end really. The day would continue and although he would think about the story, and potentially send money to the families, there was little he could do. “Absolutely terrible. I hope the company gives the families compensation of some sort, not that it would do much to bring back their lost.”
